Service Branch Automation System

The service branch of a bank is the hub of critical activities in clearing operations. It has to strictly adhere to time schedules of various Clearing Zones and other guidelines laid down by the Clearing House of the Reserve Bank Of India (RBI). Any delay or disruption in activities at the Service Branch creates a ripple effect affecting not only the bank's branches but branches of other banks as well.

The Service Branch Automation System is developed in such a way that the staff can conveniently operate it and handle their routine, but critical activities, with ease. Some of the features it comes loaded with are as follows.

Features

  • Ability to handle large number of truncations with utmost accuracy.
  • Common system to handle various clearing zones and various types of instruments.
  • Interface with various back office functions such as Head Office - General Ledger, Inter-Branch reconciliation, etc.
  • Provision for reconciliation of Bank's clearing account with RBI clearing.
  • Special features such as
    • Independent day begin and end for different clearing zones
    • Generation of various MIS reports to monitor clearing and fund management
    • Handles General /National/ECS/EFT clearing transactions

Our Role

Ember was involved in complete system study, system analysis and design, development, implementation and user training in this project.

Architecture

Client / Server Architecture is used with tools like MS SQL server as the backend database, Visual Basic as the Front end and Crystal report as the report writer.
